Welcome to the Reaching for Gold website

DUE TO TODAY'S INDUSTRIAL ACTION THE DEADLINE WILL BE EXTENDED TO 5PM ON FRIDAY 2ND DECEMBER - this is following multiple requests.

We are looking for innovative ideas, from the South East of England, that can make a practical difference to society covering 3 key areas:

Youth, Community, Innovative Access

We want ideas from people aged between 14-21 living in the South East that will benefit people who are disadvantaged by the area they live in, their circumstances or by their disability.

This competition is seeking out the best ideas for a new service, product or other that can be made into a reality.  If the idea is one of the best, we will invite you to come and pitch your product to a special panel of Judges for the chance to win cash for your cause!  To give each of the shortlisted groups a boost, we will provide a corporate and voluntary & community sector mentor to help develop the idea.

Reaching for Gold has been developed by SEEDA and members of the Corporate Cabinet, supported by Groundwork, The Prince's Trust and AbilityNet. The idea for Reaching for Gold comes from the regional programme ‘Create, Compete, Collaborate’ which has the aim that "Every young person born after 1983 will have the chance to Create, Compete or Collaborate with another young person in another country" between now and 2012.
